ABOUT WILLIAM CARMODY
William Carmody, M.Ed., Ed.S., MBA, LMHC, NCC is the founder of Counseling Hope, a practice with offices located in Maitland, Florida, that serves Maitland, Winter Park, and Orlando, and Windermere, Florida, that serves Windermere, Isleworth, Bay Hill, Dr. Phillips, Ocoee and Winter Garden. Bill has been working as a counselor since graduating from the University of Florida with his Masters Degree in Counseling as well as his Specialist Degree in Counseling. In 2009 Bill founded Counseling Hope in Orlando Florida.
William Carmody specializes in marriage counseling, couples counseling and individual counseling. Additionally, Bill has extensive experience working with individuals and couples that are struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction and substance abuse, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD, stress management, as well as health and and wellness issues.
Bill has been certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Therapist focused on helping people work through important life issues, to help each individual find fulfillment and satisfaction in life.
Bill has had particular success working with individuals and couples who have lost their passion for life and who want to move toward living their life to the fullest and making their dreams reality.
Bill earned his undergraduate Degree from Rollins College, his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida Institute of Technology, and his Master’s Degree as well as Specialist Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida.
Additionally, Bill has completed post-graduate training at Harvard Medical School in Clinical Mind/Body Medicine.
Bill has also been trained and certified in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing.
He is a Nationally Certified Counselor as certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors(NBCC), a member of the American Counseling Association(ACA), the Association for Specialists in Group Work(ASGW), International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors(IAAOC), and the Association for Creativity in Counseling(ACC)
ABOUT SONYA MARKS
Sonya has worked with diverse populations and has extensive experience working with adolescents, both through individual and group work, assisting adolescents when they struggle with life and transitions into adulthood. Sonya also has experience working with youth who struggle with ADHD.
Additionally, Sonya has had great success working with couples that are struggling with relationship issues, as well as individuals that are dealing with anxiety, depression, substance abuse as well as adjustment disorders.
Sonya holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Masters in Social Work from the University of Central Florida.
Sonya’s approach to counseling is utilized with a Person-Centered perspective, realizing you are the author of your own story. It is her goal to work as a team to assist individuals on their journey as they create or modify the road they are on. Sonya works with individuals by listening and empowering people to create change in their lives, so that they can reach their goals and dreams.
